The Popcast with Knox and Jamie is a nationally ranked pop culture podcast with over 30 million downloads, known for its comedic take on pop culture and its dedicated, engaged community of listeners. With over 1000 attendees at The Popcast Live, many listeners felt hesitant to attend the large event alone. To address this, I created a Solo Traveler’s Meetup held earlier in the day before the main event. The goal was to provide an opportunity for solo attendees to meet one another, make friends, and feel more comfortable attending the evening event.

I organized and hosted the Solo Traveler's Meetup in each city (Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin) for anyone who purchased a singular ticket to The Popcast Live. The meetups were promoted via Instagram and email and were held at local restaurants, offering attendees a chance to connect over shared interests in a relaxed, friendly environment. I handled every aspect from venue selection to designing personalized icebreaker badges and fostering a welcoming space where attendees could meet and make lasting connections before the event.

• 103 attendees across three cities, all of whom purchased tickets to The Popcast Live ($75 - $175), generating an additional $10K+ in revenue.

• Increased attendee confidence and social connections, leading to greater engagement at the event, including attendees actively contributing content to #ThePopcastLive on Instagram.

• Positive feedback with many attendees sharing that the meetups made them feel less anxious about attending alone.

• Real friendships formed, with many participants continuing to stay in touch after the events.

• Successful logistical execution of the meetups: venue management, personalized badges, and promotion via social media and newsletters.
