Street Style: Most Interesting Academy

It may be some sort of miracle that I woke up and got my day started at 7:30 this morning. Last night was the Dos Equis Most Interesting Academy party at Falkenstein Castle in Burnet, Texas. I didn't get home until 2:30 this morning.

Like before any big event, I had some heavy self-debates in my closet about what to wear. Since the party was in a castle, I seriously considered wearing a princess dress, but (like usual) the temperature was 104º, so I wanted to make sure I was cool and comfortable. I was in quite a conundrum! I didn't want to wear a dress because I wanted to have the option of bungee jumping, and I didn't want to wear heels for fear that I couldn't boogie down as much in 'em.

I did a quick jaunt over to (where else?) Buffalo Exchange, and there I spotted the thing that's been on my Christmas list for the last two years: The brown Calf Hi Minnetonka Fringe Boot. I squealed with joy when I saw they were near my size (a half size too small, but I really think they'll stretch!). I got them BRAND NEW for $28, and I knew at the exact moment that I tried them on, that those boots would be coming to the castle with me.

My outfit (mobile phone pic, sorry!):
shorts: Billabong (Pac Sun)
top: Hazel (Macy's)
boots: Minnetonka (Buffalo Exchange)
bag: no tag (Buffalo Exchange... my theory is that it's F21, but I don't know for sure).
sunglasses: Urban Outfitters
locket: my Grandma

I didn't even think to bring my big camera to do street style photos, but I luckily I had my little point and shoot with me, and I was able to snap a few photos. There weren't a lot of super fashionable people there because people just wanted to stay cool and keep their panties covered.

Last night was easily the most amazing event that I have attended this year. BYOB charter buses took us from Austin and back, and absolutely everything was free! The party had bug eating, a vertical wind tunnel, bungee trampolines, live bands, free hair cuts, amazing food, sky divers, practically unlimited Dos Equis and Red Bull (my weakness!), and lots and lots more. And by the way, I did eat a bug. I ate a grasshopper. It tasted like a salted peanut. It was the highlight of my night... except, of course, breaking in my new boots.
