Video: The Bang Acquisition

During Austin Fashion week, I went to a fashion/ hair/ make-up show at Avenue Five Institute which is a high end beauty school here in Austin. I was so thoroughly impressed with what I saw, that I knew I wanted to go there for my next hair cut.

Yesterday was the big day. I got the big bang chop... something that has taken me two years to get the courage to do!

Kara did an amazing job (and I found out that she's from Indiana, too!). My new fringe is exactly how I pictured it, but I'll admit that it's going to take some getting used to. It's like when you buy a new perfume: you like the smell, but it hasn't quite become your scent, yet. I like my bangs, but I'm so not used to seeing them on my head!

If you live near Austin, I highly recommend checking out AvenueFive for all your hair and day spa needs. The prices are insanely reasonable ($12 for a shampoo, cut, and style/ $20 for a 55 minute facial!). The students seem very knowledgeable and deliberate, and the instructors are on the floor making sure the students are doing a bang up job.

I have no idea why I waited two years to do this!
