Giveaway: Uchenna necklace
Update- 10 August 2010: Winner announced!
A few weeks ago I got a sweet email from BurdaStyle Social Media and Member Services Coordinator/ writer/ singer David Morgan (who blogs over at Yes, David is Here). Turns out that David is also a fabric artist and has been selling his fiber accessories all around New York and on Etsy under the shop name "Uchenna".
Inspired by African rhythms, flotsam found on the shore, melted shapes, bright colors, jazz music and vegetables, David is on a careful mission to bring more color in wardrobes around the world, and further the ever-growing handmade movement, particularly in urban spaces.
Most of his handmade items incorporate recycled, re-purposed or natural materials, and are made on subway trips to work, in various park benches around New York City and in David's tiny room in the Bronx.
I wear my own Uchenna necklace regularly (seen here and here), and David has generously offered one Adored Austin reader the chance to win one of his original, one-of-a-kind, hand crafted necklace. This is the Swing Green Vine Necklace: a super-long necklace, hand-crocheted from 100% cotton yarn. Primarily olive green, but with bits of yellow and off-white thrown in for good measure. It measures 27 inches and would be perfect for layering and doubling up!
Here's what you have to do to win:
1. When you get a moment, check out David online. He's got an Etsy shop and a blog. He also works at BurdaStyle.
2. Double check to make sure you're following Adored Austin either on Google Reader, Blog Lovin', Networked Blogs (fb app), or simply like Adored Austin on Facebook.
3. By midnight Texas time this Sunday, August 8th, fill out this form:
EDIT: 9 August 2010: form has been deleted. Entry period has ended. The winner has been announced.
Good luck, everyone! I'll draw the winner Monday night, on August 9th. This contest is open to everyone, worldwide, so long as you have not won an Adored Austin drawing in the last six months. No need to retweet or repost or any of that madness for extra entries. Please, only one entry per person.
*note: After the winner has been announced, I delete all your information from my inbox and server to ensure your privacy. I will never share your email address with others without your permission.
