It all started when I worked at a department store during college. There was some kind of contest/ bang-up deal where I ended up with a $100 store credit. I had just finished up a hard semester, so I decided to treat myself to something I had always stayed clear of: premium denim. On my break from the make-up counter, I took the escalator up to the second floor and tried on jeans that cost five times as much as all the other pairs of jeans I had, and boy howdy, was I hooked!

Usually, I get a stomach ache when I spend a lot of money on single items. I don't own a lot of luxury brands that aren't finds from Buffalo Exchange or rescues from my mother's giveaway pile. The exception? Jeans.
