Halloween is over, but I still want treats!

For the last three years my dear friend Andrea has come down from Dallas to do my birthday and Halloween with me. This year, in addition to my Golden Girls themed birthday party, we had a Halloween Eve party to attend as well as the do512 Halloween bash. This is what we wore for Ann's Halloween Eve party:

Halloween eve 2009
(on me, left) suit: Tahari, vintage blouse: estate sale, vintage fur: thrift store find, birds: spray painted dove ornaments.
(on Andrea, right) shorts, and socks: courtesy of her dad, shirt: thrifted.

A few people had a hard time figuring it out: I'm Melanie Daniels from The Birds and she's Joel Goodsen from Risky Business.

Our Halloween night costumes were a little easier to recognize:

Scarecrow & Wednesday
(on Andrea, left) shirt: thrifted, tights: Papaya, raffia: Hobby Lobby.
(on me, right) dress: Express (seriously, 10 years ago), blouse: thrifted (same one Andrea wore the night before), belt: thrifted, tights: Halloween store, shoes: American Eagle.
People seemed to get she was a scarecrow, and a few (saucy/ slutty) Dorothys asked to take a picture with her. Several people kept asking me who I was supposed to be. When I'd reply "Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family!" they'd be like, "Oh, right! I forgot about that show!".

I'm pretty sure I'm going to reuse both of my this year's costumes next year. Of course that's what I said about my last three costumes, but I think this year's deserve to be seen again. You be the judge:

Waldo and Bjork
DIY Bjork in 2008.
Blue fairy & Robin Hood
Generic blue fairy in 2007.
Princess Leia, scary clown, and 1970's Cher
1970's Cher, 2007.

Oh, and I wanted to tell you that one of the highlights of my Halloween came when a reader at the do512 party came up to me and said, "You're Indiana! I am so excited to show you that I am wearing a belt as a necklace!" That pretty much made my night, and I love that that's become one of my trademarks!

The worse part of the night came when I realized I lost Hubs' digital camera. I had it in my Thing box, and it must have fallen out sometime while we were party hopping. My big memory card was in there, so this is partially why I haven't been able to do a self-style post. I got a new card today, so all should be better tomorrow!

Well, sorta. Tomorrow I'm working as an election clerk, and no laptops and phones are allowed. Unfortunately, I'll be working from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., followed by my small group, so I won't be able to post until around 9 or 10 p.m. Huge apologies for that, but I have several things to share with you, so make sure to check back then, okay? In the meantime, if you haven't already, be sure to enter the Buy Definition giveaway since it ends this Thursday.
