Spotlight on: Manic Trout
If a person were to describe me in three short quips, I'm nearly certain they'd be:
- Fast birther
- Wing eater and
- Animal jewelry collector
It's this last one that caused my path to cross with the Sierra Bailey, the monumental talent behind Manic Trout. People kept asking me, "You love animal jewelry? You're in Austin? Do you know Manic Trout?" And likewise people kept asking her, "You make animal jewelry? You're in Austin? Do you know Adored Austin?" We were a match made in ATX heaven. Do you see that amazing lion necklace in my sidebar picture? (Here for you Bloglovin' readers). That was the first Manic Trout piece of jewelry that came into my life.
Obviously Sierra and I became fast friends, and it's been a delight watching her brand grow over these last few years. She does have other offerings outside her critter collection, but man! Her critter collection is just so much fun! A while back she started offering custom pieces, and a few months ago she allowed me to come over to her home studio to create a one of a kind necklace just for me:
DATE: 20 August 2014 // OCCASION: errands
TOP: Langford Market // SHORTS: c/o Gnomadic // NECKLACE: c/o Manic Trout // BAG: c/o Consuela // LOAFERS: c/o Trask // EARRINGS: Gorjana
I'll miss seeing Sierra out and about at Austin events, but I will always treasure this necklace, as it encompasses my favorite things: seahorses, the color yellow, and my sweet time in Austin. Be sure to contact Manic Trout about creating a one of a kind piece of jewelry for yourself or a loved one or shop her already made collection online at ManicTrout.com.
P.S.
I know you want to talk about these shorts too, especially after seeing a peek of them in this video and now here. Oh, we will. We certainly will talk about them next week. Aren't they awesome? More to come!
